Over the past couple of years, we have felt a call to mission. We began serving locally in our own community but felt called to do more.
A couple of years ago, we dared to ask “what more can we do?” He answered with a resounding “just go!”
Since then we have been blessed to travel to Canaan, Haiti three times over the last couple of years. Serving as His hands and feet in a community that depends on prayer in ways we could never imagine.
Ever since we returned from our last venture, there has been a continual tug on our hearts. We felt a gravitational pulling on us, drawing us outside of our comfort zone.
Recently we were approached with an opportunity to travel with another nonprofit called Hope Bridges to see the work they do first hand in Thailand. We will be traveling to Thailand for a couple of weeks towards the end of July and into August of this year. In fact, we will be celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary overseas. Personally, I cannot think of a better way to serve our Lord and honor our marriage than doing what He has called us to do.
This trip will be different from the previous ones to Haiti in many ways. Rather than fitting as much as we can into a span of three or four days, we will be in the country about two weeks. The travel time and expense are considerably more, yet the opportunity to serve God’s kingdom even greater.
It will likely take 24-36 hours in travel time, each way, which is quite a difference from a couple of hours to Haiti. We will be visiting established orphanages that Hope Bridges supports and will have the opportunity to spiritually feed the children in the local area.
None of this will be possible without the generosity and donations of those around us. We are humbly answering the call that many only wish they were able to do.
“Many are invited, but few are chosen.” ~ Matthew 22:14
Every dollar we raise will go towards the expenses of the trip, any additional raised will go directly to the Hope Bridges projects in Thailand. Just the travel expenses alone is something that we have prayerfully determined that if it is God’s will, He will in turn provide. Thank you in advance for your prayers and contributions. Be sure to sign up to follow us on our journey and learn more about Thailand and the people we are called to serve.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and contributions.
