We have made it to our first destination point in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
After many hours, long lines, uncomfortable seats on numerous planes we have arrived.
In order to offset the toll the journey has taken after traveling to the other side of the world and various time zones, we need sleep.
We arrived around 7:15 am on Tuesday Thailand time, which would be 8:15 pm Monday back home, well for those on the east coast.
It is interesting eating dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. One more way to accentuate the time differences.
Upon arrival, the goal was to stay awake until nightfall. That in and of itself was a challenge since many had little to no sleep since leaving Kansas City early Sunday morning.
We went into town and experienced our first taste of Thai culture.
Later that evening the group ate at a quaint restaurant, Lemongrass. Amidst dinner my lack of sleep caught up with me.
After a delicious Thai dinner we walked through the night market bleary-eyed wanting nothing more but sleep.
This morning, after much needed rest we have had a delicious breakfast (at your dinner time) to give us energy for our first “real” day awake in Chiang Mai.
